Botran Reserva Blanca Rum 750 ml

Botran comes from the same Guatemalan producer, Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, behind the more internationally famous Ron Zacapa, and it uses a similar Sistema Solera aging process — a fractional blending method through tiers of barrels — before this Reserva Blanca is charcoal filtered to strip out the color while keeping the roundness the aging built up. That's different from most white rums, which are simply unaged and bottled straight off the still; Botran's white rum has genuinely been through barrel time first. The result is a softer, rounder white rum than a typical unaged Caribbean light rum, with real depth despite the clear color.

How to drink Botran Reserva Blanca

Use it in a Daiquiri or Mojito, where its softer, rounder character shows through better than a harsher unaged rum would. It's smooth enough to also work neat for drinkers curious about a filtered-aged white rum.
