Crown Royal Blended Canadian 750 ml

Crown Royal was first blended in 1939, commissioned by Seagram to mark the Canadian royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Today it's produced at the company's Gimli, Manitoba distillery on the shore of Lake Winnipeg, where the master blender combines roughly 50 different whisky lots — mostly corn and rye based — aged in a mix of new and used oak. The result is light and approachable: vanilla and caramel up front, a touch of oak and dried fruit through the middle, and a smooth, easy-drinking finish with almost no bite. It's built for mixing as readily as sipping, and its recognizable purple bag has made it a default gift bottle for decades.

How to drink Crown Royal Blended Canadian

Its light body makes it forgiving in a Crown and Coke, the drink most responsible for its popularity, but it also holds up fine on the rocks with a splash of water if you'd rather taste it plain. It's a good starter whisky for someone who finds bourbon or rye too aggressive.
