El Tequileno Blanco 750 ml

El Tequileño Blanco is an unaged, 100% blue agave tequila made in the town of Tequila, in Jalisco, Mexico. Because it skips the barrel, the agave shows up raw and clear: cooked agave and citrus on the nose, white pepper and a green, herbal snap across the palate, and a clean, peppery finish, all at 40% ABV. The distillery has made tequila in the shadow of the Tequila volcano since 1959, using spring water drawn from its slopes. This is a mixing blanco first, holding its own against lime and salt in a Paloma or margarita, though it stays clean enough to sip chilled.

How to drink El Tequileño Blanco

This is also a strong Tommy's Margarita base — just tequila, lime, and agave syrup, no triple sec — since the blanco's herbal snap doesn't need orange liqueur to round it out.
