Bull Run Pinot Cask Tracktown Barrel Whiskey 16 year 750ml

Tracktown is Bull Run's Eugene-facing release, a sixteen-year whiskey finished in Oregon Pinot Noir casks — local wine wood doing the last stretch of work on mature American whiskey. Pinot barrels are lighter and redder in character than sherry or port, so the finish adds bright fruit and a soft tannic grip rather than heavy sweetness, and sixteen years of oak gives it plenty to push against. The nose is red cherry, vanilla and cedar; the palate runs dark caramel, raspberry, cocoa and dry oak spice; the finish is long, fruited and tannic. Pour it neat and give it ten minutes in the glass before you judge it.
