My Favorite Neighbor is the Paso Robles label Eric Jensen of Booker Vineyard named for the growers who helped him get started, and this 2021 Chardonnay carries that same central coast address. Paso's warm days and cold nights are what let a Chardonnay ripen fully without losing the acid that keeps it upright, and the wine reflects that swing. The nose is lemon curd and white peach with a touch of hazelnut. The palate is ripe orchard fruit with a creamy middle and a citrus lift, and the finish is long, bright and faintly saline. Serve it lightly chilled with roast chicken, crab or something buttery.
