Altos Del Plara Malbec Mendoza Argentina

Altos del Plata Malbec is an everyday Mendoza red, made from fruit grown on the high benchland vineyards that Argentina built its reputation on. Altitude matters more than anything else here: the vines sit well above sea level, where cold nights preserve acidity and thick-skinned Malbec ripens fully without turning jammy. The nose is dark plum and blackberry with violet and a little vanilla. The palate is soft-centred and generous, with black cherry, cocoa and a light dusting of oak spice sitting over supple tannin, and the finish is medium-length and clean. Serve it at cool room temperature with steak, sausages, empanadas or a burger straight off the grill.
