Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch 21 Year is an aged single malt from Benromach Distillery, one of Speyside's smaller producers, owned by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail since the distillery's 1990s revival. Benromach is known for using a slightly peated new-make spirit, giving their whisky a lighter smoke undertone that most Speyside malts don't carry, layered with the region's typical orchard-fruit and honey character. At 21 years, expect that smoke to have mellowed into the background behind deeper notes of dried fruit, sherry-cask influence, and rich malt built up over two decades in wood.
