About this bottle
Clear Creek Apple Brandy is made in Oregon from local orchard apples, distilled in a pot still and aged in oak in the Calvados tradition that founder Steve McCarthy set out to follow when he built the distillery in the 1980s. Two years in wood is enough to take the raw edge off without burying the fruit, so this still tastes like apples rather than like barrel. The nose is fresh orchard apple and pressed cider; the palate brings baked apple, a little vanilla and a dry tannic grip; the finish is warm and clean at 80 proof. Serve it neat after a meal, over a single cube, or in a Jack Rose with lemon and grenadine.
