Rogue Morimoto Oregon Single Malt Whiskey 750ml

Dead Guy Morimoto Single Malt Whiskey comes from Rogue Spirits in Newport, Oregon, the distilling arm of the brewery behind Dead Guy Ale, and carries the Morimoto name from Rogue's long collaboration with chef Masaharu Morimoto. Brewery-owned distilleries have an advantage here: the wash starts as beer, and that malt character survives into the spirit. The nose is malty and sweet, with toasted grain, honey and dried fruit. The palate is round and cereal-driven, carrying caramel, baked pear and a light nuttiness over gentle oak. The finish is medium, warm and softly drying. Drink it neat, or over one large cube.
