Delamain XXO Grande Champagne Cognac 700ml

Delamain XXO is a Grande Champagne cognac from a house that works almost exclusively with that one cru, buying mature eaux-de-vie from small growers and ageing them further rather than distilling its own. XXO is the newest official age tier in Cognac, sitting above XO, so this is very old spirit blended for delicacy rather than weight. The nose opens on dried apricot, candied orange and the nutty rancio that only decades in cask can build; the palate turns to honey, walnut, sweet spice and soft leather; the finish is long, dry and faintly floral. Serve it neat at room temperature in a tulip glass.
