About this bottle
Martell Cordon Bleu has been in continuous production since 1912, making it one of the older standing blends in Cognac, built from eaux-de-vie sourced mainly from the Borderies and Grande Champagne crus — Borderies is a smaller growing area known for a distinct violet and nutty character that sets Martell apart from houses leaning entirely on Grande Champagne. The blend averages well over a decade of aging in French oak, giving it real depth: dried fruit, baking spice, and cocoa over a base of plum and fig. It sits above the entry VS and VSOP tiers but below Martell's oldest extra bottlings, making it the house's flagship expression.
How to drink Martell Cordon Bleu
Serve it neat in a tulip glass at room temperature to let the Borderies character show through. It's rich enough to also work in a Sidecar if you want to see how it holds up in a classic cognac cocktail.
