About this bottle
El Dorado 15 Year comes from Demerara Distillers in Guyana, one of the few producers left running a collection of historic wooden and metal pot stills alongside column stills — some of the actual stills date back over a century, and El Dorado blends spirit from several of them into each release. Aged 15 years in the tropics, where heat accelerates maturation compared to cooler climates, it's built up a real reputation among rum enthusiasts as one of the best value aged rums on the market, regularly winning blind tastings against bottles two or three times the price. Expect dried fruit, molasses, toffee, and a rich, coffee-inflected depth.
How to drink El Dorado 15 Year
Drink it neat in a snifter — this is genuinely a sipping rum on par with aged whiskey or cognac, and it deserves to be tasted that way at least once. A large ice cube is fine if you want it slightly cooler.
