Fundador Sherry Cask Fine Brandy Solera Reserva 750 ml

Fundador Sherry Cask is a Brandy de Jerez from Spain's sherry country, aged by the solera system, where younger brandy is continually blended into older so that every bottle carries a fraction of much older spirit. The casks previously held sherry, and that shows up as raisin and dried fig rather than the fresh vanilla you get from new oak. The nose is nutty and sweet, the palate runs toffee, orange peel and roasted almond over a soft, rounded body, and the finish leaves walnut and a little oak spice behind. Serve it neat in a copita after dinner, over a big cube, or lengthened with cola and lemon in a Spanish highball.
