Garrison Brothers Guadalupe Cask Strength Single Barrel is port-finished Texas straight bourbon pulled from one cask and bottled at 129.7 proof with nothing added. Garrison Brothers matures in Hye, in the Hill Country, where the heat pushes spirit through new charred oak hard and fast; the Portuguese port casks that follow are where the dark fruit comes from. The nose is black cherry, cocoa powder and hot oak; the palate is dense with raisin, molasses and char and a clear pepper edge; the finish is very long and tannic. Single barrels differ from one another by design. Add water a few drops at a time and drink it neat.
