Glenmorangie The Nectar is a 16 year old Highland single malt matured first in bourbon casks and then finished in sweet white wine casks, which is where the honeyed weight through the middle comes from. Glenmorangie runs the tallest stills in Scotland, and the light, floral spirit they produce is precisely what allows this kind of finishing to add rather than overwhelm. The nose is lemon curd, honeysuckle and vanilla; the palate is rich with candied citrus, apricot, almond and a little butterscotch; the finish is long and sweet without ever turning heavy. Serve it neat after dinner, or over a single large cube.
