About this bottle

Released in a run of just 1,206 bottles, Highland Park Søren Solkær 26 Years of Photography is a 26-year-old single malt Scotch whisky made with Danish photographer Søren Solkær. Distilled on Orkney, it matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned American oak and first-fill bourbon casks, which read as rich, spiced fruit rather than heavy sweetness. Light heathery peat smoke sits over cloves, cardamom, and raisins, closing long and lingering at 40.5% ABV. Each bottle ships in a bespoke leather box with a leather-bound book of Solkær's images, so it arrives as much a collector's object as a dram. Pour it neat, skip the water, and give a Highland Park of this age the attention it asks for.

How to drink Highland Park Søren Solkær 26 Years

Pour it neat in a proper whisky glass and give it a few minutes before the first sip — at this age the sherry-cask fruit and heather smoke need room to separate. This is a whisky to drink slowly on its own, not one to build a cocktail around.
