Laphroaig Cairdeas Cask Favourites Released 2024 10 year 700 ml

Cairdeas is the annual Laphroaig release made for Feis Ile, the Islay whisky festival, and it changes shape every year depending on which casks the distillery team wants to show off. Cask Favourites is the 2024 edition, carrying a ten year old age statement. The Laphroaig signature is intact underneath: medicinal peat, seaweed and sea spray, the taste of a distillery that still floor malts part of its own barley. Vanilla and sweet malt sit under the smoke, dried fruit and oak fill the middle, and the finish is long, smoky and drying. Drink it neat, with a drop of water if the smoke needs opening up.
