QSD Dry Gin is the everyday gin from Quincy Street Distillery, the small Riverside, Illinois producer that set up in an old plumbing shop and named itself after the street outside. It is a classic dry style rather than a botanical experiment, which makes it a working bottle rather than a curiosity. Juniper leads the nose with lemon peel and coriander seed, the palate stays dry and piney with citrus, angelica root and a little cracked pepper, and the finish is crisp and faintly spiced. Pour it into a gin and tonic with a lemon wedge, or stir a martini and let the juniper do the talking.
