Russell's Reserve Barrel Proof is Kentucky straight bourbon from the Russell family at Wild Turkey, bottled for this Spring 2026 release at 123.8 proof with no water added on the way out. Wild Turkey has long filled its barrels at a lower entry proof than most of Kentucky, which means less water goes into the wood and less has to come back out, and full-strength bottlings from this house tend to drink richer than the number suggests. The nose is toasted oak, dark caramel and orange peel. The palate is thick and warming, brown sugar, baking spice, char and a streak of vanilla. The finish is long, dry and peppery. Add a few drops of water and drink it neat.
