Tequila Carrera Tahona Blanco 700ml

Carrera Tahona Blanco is made using a tahona, the volcanic stone wheel that crushes roasted agave the way it was done before roller mills arrived. The method is slow and inefficient and produces a distinctly different spirit: more agave fibre stays in the fermentation, which builds an earthier, rounder body than a mill-crushed blanco of the same age. Expect roasted agave, damp stone and citrus peel on the nose, a palate of cooked agave with pepper, olive brine and a fibrous sweetness, and a long mineral finish. This is a tequila to taste rather than shoot. Serve it neat in a copita at room temperature, with a little salt and lime alongside.
