About this bottle
San Matias Tahona Anejo is the longer-aged counterpart to San Matias's Tahona Reposado, produced by Tequila San Matias in the Los Altos region of Jalisco using the traditional stone tahona wheel to crush at least a portion of the cooked agave before fermentation. Anejo tequila requires a minimum of one year in oak, and San Matias's version builds on the earthier, more textured base the tahona method gives, layering deeper caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak on top. Expect a fuller-bodied, more dessert-leaning pour than the reposado, with agave still present but less dominant under the extra barrel time.
How to drink San Matias Tahona Anejo
Drink it neat in a small glass to appreciate the oak and caramel the extra year of ageing built up. It also stands in well for whiskey in an Old Fashioned if you want a tequila-forward twist on the classic.

Questions about this bottle
How should San Matias Tahona Anejo be served?
Sip it neat in a copita or rocks glass; a full year in oak gives it enough smoothness to drink straight.
What cocktails work well with San Matias Tahona Anejo?
It can stand in for whiskey in a tequila Old Fashioned, though it's smooth enough on its own to skip the mixer entirely.
