Uncle Nearest Single Barrel is Tennessee whiskey bottled from one cask at a time, with no blending to smooth out the differences, so each barrel stands on its own. Like everything from the house, it is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before it goes into oak, the Lincoln County Process that separates Tennessee whiskey from bourbon and takes the rough edges off early. The nose runs maple, toasted corn and dark caramel. The palate is rich, with cherry, toffee, cocoa and oak spice layered together, and the finish stays sweet and long. Drink it neat first to read the barrel, then pour the next one over a large cube.
