About this bottle
Westland Colere Edition 4 belongs to the Seattle distillery's barley series, a line dedicated to single varieties of barley grown in the Pacific Northwest and distilled on their own so the grain itself is the subject of the whiskey. Most producers treat barley as a commodity; Colere treats it the way a winemaker treats a vineyard. The result is malt-forward and cereal-driven: fresh bread, orchard fruit and honey on the nose, a palate of malted barley, pear and light cocoa, and a clean finish with gentle oak trailing behind. Pour it neat in a copita and give it ten minutes in the glass before the first sip.
