About this bottle
Rey Sol Extra Añejo is a tequila as known for its decanter as its liquid — Casa San Matías ages it six years in French oak, then bottles it in a sun-faced glass sculpture designed by Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante. This release marks the brand's 20th anniversary. Six years is a long rest for agave spirit, and it shows: the tequila drinks closer to an aged brandy than a young blanco, with toasted oak, vanilla, dried fruit, and a run of dark chocolate underneath. It is made from 100% Blue Weber agave. Pour it neat in a snifter and treat it like the after-dinner sipper it is — the decanter earns its shelf space long after the bottle is empty.
