About this bottle
Laird's Straight Apple Brandy comes from the holder of U.S. Distilled Spirits License No. 1 — the Laird family has made apple brandy in New Jersey since 1780, and legend has it the recipe's ancestor was shared with George Washington himself. This straight expression is distilled entirely from tree-ripened apples and aged in charred oak, drinking closer to whiskey than to fruit liqueur: baked apple and toasted oak up front, honey and cider warmth through the middle, a dry, clean finish with no confected sweetness anywhere. It is the backbone of the classic Jack Rose and an underrated swap into an Old Fashioned. History this old at a price this reasonable is its own argument.
