About this bottle

Old Carter Straight Bourbon Whiskey Small Batch 8 is a barrel-strength Kentucky bourbon, one of 1,971 bottles released in 2021. Founders Mark and Sherri Carter built the label on small blends of well-aged sourced whiskey bottled at full strength without chill filtration — nothing cut, nothing filtered out. Batch 8 reached only a handful of states, and like every batch in the series it carries a proof and a profile all its own; when this blend is gone, it is gone for good. That per-batch character is the draw for collectors, and the reason no two labels in the series read alike. Pour it neat, add water a few drops at a time, and let the barrel strength open on its own schedule.

How to drink Old Carter Bourbon Batch 8

Full barrel proof means it can take dilution better than most — a splash of water or one modest ice cube opens the fruit without flattening it, but this is built to be tasted slowly, not mixed away.

Questions about this bottle

What proof is Old Carter Bourbon Batch 8?

It's bottled at full barrel strength without proofing down, so it varies by batch — check the label for the exact proof of this release.

Is Old Carter Bourbon Batch 8 chill filtered?

No — like the rest of the series, it's bottled non-chill filtered to preserve full body and flavor.

Why does each Old Carter batch taste different?

Founders Mark and Sherri Carter select small blends of well-aged sourced whiskey rather than chasing one fixed house profile, so proof and flavor shift release to release.
