Camus VSOP Intensely Aromatic is a cognac from the family-owned Camus house, released here in a limited-edition bottle featuring artwork by Nick Low. It's built from eaux-de-vie including Borderies cru grapes and aged a minimum of four years in lightly-toasted French oak, the regulatory floor for VSOP. True to its name, the aromatics run high, white flowers and jasmine up front, then ripe pear and passion fruit developing into vanilla fudge, with a long finish of vanilla bean and baking spice. It drinks softer and fruitier than a typical VSOP, making it a good entry point for someone who finds standard cognac too oaky, and a fun pick for a collector chasing the art-bottle release.

How to drink Camus VSOP Intensely Aromatic

Room temperature and neat is where the florals and pear really show, though a single large cube won't hurt it if you'd rather drink it cooler. It also holds its own in a Sidecar or a Corpse Reviver No. 2 if you'd rather mix it.
