Bowmore Single Malt Scotch Sherry Oak Cask 15 Yr 700 ml

Bowmore 15 Year Old is an Islay single malt that spends its first twelve years in ex-bourbon casks and the last three in Oloroso sherry butts — the reason it pours so dark and why the distillery calls it Darkest. Bowmore sits on the shore at Loch Indaal and still malts a portion of its own barley on site, so the peat here reads as gentle sea smoke rather than a bonfire. The nose is raisin, dark chocolate and brine; the palate is Christmas cake, orange peel and treacle with smoke curling underneath; the finish is long and sweetly smoky. Drink it neat, at room temperature.
