Lagavulin Sweet Peat 11 Year is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Lagavulin distillery on Islay, matured entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at 43% ABV. It was the distillery's first new permanent core-range release in nine years, built to show a gentler side of Lagavulin's signature peat at around 35 phenol PPM — a mid-point on the peat spectrum rather than the distillery's typically heavier smoke. The nose is fragrantly sweet with peat smoke, sea shell brine, and cigar box; the palate turns smooth and syrupy with strawberry jam, dark chocolate, and sugared coffee, finishing with fruit sweetness balanced against spice and peat.
