About this bottle
Alto del Carmen Pisco Reservado is a Chilean pisco made from 100% Muscat grapes grown in the Elqui Valley, one of Chile's classic pisco-producing regions. As a “reservado,” it spends at least six months resting in American oak before bottling, longer than the base expression, which gives it a touch more roundness. Expect a floral, grapey nose with notes of dried apricot, a smooth, slightly oily palate, and a clean, warming finish with a whisper of vanilla from the wood. It's a solid introduction to Chilean pisco for anyone used to Peruvian styles, and it mixes cleanly into a Piscola or Pisco Sour.
How to drink Alto del Carmen Pisco Reservado
Chile drinks its pisco mixed — a Piscola (pisco and cola over ice with a lime wedge) is the everyday call, and it also makes a fine Pisco Sour with egg white and lime. Neat works too if you want to taste the oak resting time directly.
