Volteo Cristalino Reposado is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila from Destileria Casa de Piedra in El Arenal, Jalisco, rested at least three months in French oak wine barrels rather than the bourbon casks most reposados use. As a cristalino, it is clear in the glass while keeping reposado depth. The nose opens with roasted agave, vanilla and ripe plum, with citrus peel and clove following. The palate is smooth and agave-forward with caramel, dark chocolate and pepper, and the finish runs medium with a faint smoky edge. A good pick for tequila drinkers who want something polished and a little different from the usual reposado.
