SelvaRey Owner's Reserve is a blended aged rum from Panama, sitting at the top of the SelvaRey range founded by Ricky Martin and produced with veteran Panamanian rum blender Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernández. The blend draws on rums aged up to eight years in American oak, chosen for a rounder, richer profile than the brand's standard White, Coconut, and Dark expressions. Expect brown sugar, vanilla, and toasted oak over a soft tropical fruit base, with enough weight to stand up in a glass on its own. It's aimed at rum drinkers moving past mixers and into aged, sipping-style rum.
How to drink SelvaRey Owner's Reserve
Pour it neat or over one large cube and give it a few minutes to open up — the aging is the point here. If you do want it in a cocktail, keep it simple: a rum Old Fashioned lets the oak come through instead of burying it.
