About this bottle
The Real McCoy 12 Year Old is a Barbados rum distilled and aged at Foursquare Distillery, the house behind some of the Caribbean's most respected rum. It's a blend of pot and column still rum, aged a full 12 years in ex-bourbon American oak before bottling, taking its name from Prohibition-era rum-runner Captain Bill McCoy. The nose runs to oak, vanilla and caramel; the palate is smooth and mellow with toffee, dried fruit and a touch of spice, closing on a long finish with a whisper of smoke. It's built for sipping, though it holds its own in a rum Old Fashioned.
How to drink The Real McCoy 12 Year
Pour it neat or with a single large cube — twelve years of ex-bourbon oak gives it enough backbone that ice won't wash it out. It also makes an excellent base for a rum Old Fashioned if you want to put it to work rather than just sip it.
