Buffalo Trace Distillery Barrel Select Eric's Choice 750 ML

This is a single-barrel selection of Buffalo Trace bourbon, chosen through the distillery's barrel select programme and bottled under the name of the person who picked it. The Kentucky straight bourbon comes from Buffalo Trace's undisclosed low-rye recipe and is bottled at 90 proof, but a single barrel never tastes quite like the batched version — the warehouse and the floor it sat on do as much work as the recipe does. Expect caramel, brown sugar and toffee on the nose; dark fruit, vanilla, mint and cracked pepper on the palate; and a medium, oaky finish. Drink it neat first, then decide whether it belongs in an old fashioned.
