Clique Vodka Noir Reserve is the darker-labelled bottling in the Clique range, a straightforward vodka aimed at mixing rather than contemplation. Vodka lives or dies on texture and how quickly it gets out of the way, and this one is built for the second half of that: clean enough to disappear into a drink, with just enough weight to keep a cocktail from feeling thin. The nose is neutral with a faint grain sweetness. The palate is soft and slightly viscous with light citrus and a whisper of pepper, and the finish is short and crisp. Keep it in the freezer, pour it into a mule or a cosmopolitan, or serve it very cold and neat.
