Suntory -196 Strawberry is a Japanese-style canned chuhai built on vodka, sparkling water and real strawberry. The name comes from the process: whole fruit is flash-frozen at -196 degrees Celsius, shattered into a powder and steeped in spirit, so the peel and pulp go into the can rather than just the juice. The result is drier and sharper than most fruit RTDs, with a bright berry nose, a tart, almost skin-on strawberry palate carrying very little sugar, and a clean, fizzy finish. Serve it straight from the can over ice with a wedge of lime, or pour it tall as a lighter highball at a cookout.
