Alois Lageder Porer Pinot Grigio 750ml

Alois Lageder Porer is a Pinot Grigio from Alto Adige, the alpine north of Italy, made by a family estate that has farmed biodynamically for decades. Porer is a step away from the thin, neutral version of this grape most people have met. It comes from a defined site and is built with enough texture and weight to sit at the table rather than only in an aperitivo glass. The nose is ripe pear, yellow apple and a little almond. The palate is dry and broad, with citrus, stone fruit and a saline mineral streak running under it, and the finish is long and clean. Serve it cool rather than cold, with trout, risotto or a hard alpine cheese.
