Alpine Lafayette Spicy Bourbon Whiskey 700ml

Alpine Lafayette Spicy Bourbon is a flavoured bourbon from Alpine Distilling in Park City, Utah, built by adding warm spice to a bourbon base rather than leaning on the barrel alone. What keeps it from tasting like candy is that the whiskey underneath still reads as whiskey, with corn sweetness and oak both present behind the spice. The nose is cinnamon, clove and a little dried chilli over vanilla. The palate is sweet and then hot, with brown sugar, baked apple and a peppery burn that builds as it goes, and the finish is long and warming before drying out at the very end. Pour it cold as a shot, over ice, or into hot cider or coffee.
