Existential!

This is my favorite whisky! I’ve been a big fan of Ardbeg ever since my first dram of the 10-yr. When I received my first bottle of Drum I knew I was in for something special. The box displays small whimsical pictures of pineapples, coconuts, and bananas all related to the finishing cask. The nose is strong with all of those fruits and of course, “the peat” that Ardbeg is known for. The palate gives you everything from the nose and more.....raisins, baking spice, honey, and caramel. The finish is long and fruity with with a hint of dark chocolate. You can’t go wrong with Ardbeg Drum. Pour a dram and imagine yourself on a warm tropical beach with your toes in the sand.

Description

This limited-edition single malt from Ardbeg distillery – Drum – was released for Ardbeg Day, during Feis Ile 2019. Matured in ex-bourbon casks and rested in ex-rum casks, this is a funky, flamboyant whisky. The nose is full of ripe banana, pineapple, cocoa and woodsmoke aromas, with hints of fresh ginger, cinnamon and lavender developing slowly. The palate offers notes of black pepper, ginger, clove and liquorice, alongside dark chocolate, rich smoke and vanilla.
