This is a 26 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Ardmore Distillery in October 1997 and independently bottled by Single Malts of Scotland from cask #901311, a re-charred hogshead, at 49.9% ABV. Ardmore's peated Highland spirit is rarely bottled under its own name, which makes independent releases like this one of the more accessible ways to taste it. Expect stone fruit and earthy spice with a hint of toffee candy on the nose, then gentle smoke and char moving into grilled peaches and caramel-covered green apples on the palate, finishing warm with refined, lingering smoke.
