Au Vodka Vanilla Ice Cream is a dessert-flavored bottling from the Welsh brand behind the gold bottles, sold here in a 700ml size. A neutral grain vodka sits underneath, with vanilla flavoring layered on after distillation, so the sweetness rides on top of the spirit rather than coming out of the fermenter. The nose is vanilla bean, cream soda and a whiff of sugar cone. The palate follows through sweet and rounded, closer to vanilla custard than to a spirit, and the finish is short and sugary.
