Ballast Point Devil's Share Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey 750ml

Devil's Share is the whiskey side of Ballast Point, the San Diego brewery whose distilling arm has been quietly making spirits alongside the beer for years. This small batch bourbon is aged in new charred American oak and blended from a handful of barrels at a time rather than run as one continuous stream, which keeps each release tasting like a decision rather than a formula. The nose is caramel corn and vanilla, the palate leans toward baked apple, brown sugar and a light char, and the finish is dry with oak and a little pepper. Good neat, better in an old fashioned with an orange twist.
