Bardstown Bourbon Company X Brewing Founders KBS 750ml

This Bardstown Bourbon Company release comes from the distillery's Collaborative Series, which finishes Kentucky bourbon in barrels borrowed from another producer, here casks that previously held Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout, the coffee and chocolate imperial stout aged in bourbon wood in the first place. The barrel goes out and comes home with something added. Expect espresso, cocoa and dark caramel on the nose, a palate of roasted coffee, brown sugar and oak over the bourbon's own baking spice, and a long finish with bittersweet chocolate. It is a dessert-leaning bourbon that still tastes like bourbon. Drink it neat, slowly, after a meal.
