Bardstown Double Barreled Series #13 750 ml

Bardstown Double Barreled Series #13 is a limited numbered release from Bardstown Bourbon Company, the Kentucky distillery known equally for its own distillate and for the finishing work it does in borrowed casks. A second barrel is where most of the character in a release like this comes from: the whiskey moves out of the wood it grew up in and picks up a different layer on the way out. Expect caramel and dark fruit on the nose, a palate of brown sugar, oak spice and a deeper sweetness from that second cask, and a long, warm finish. Neat is the way to read it, with a large cube if it runs hot.
