About this bottle
This is Bardstown Bourbon Company's Collaborative Series bottling made with Maison Ferrand, the French house behind Pierre Ferrand cognac: Kentucky whiskey given a second life in casks that held cognac in the Charente. Grape wood and grain spirit get along better than they should. The nose lifts with dried apricot, orange peel and vanilla, the palate follows with caramel, baked stone fruit and oak spice over the bourbon's own brown-sugar core, and the finish is long, softly sweet and a little floral. It is the kind of finish that changes the whiskey rather than decorating it. Serve it neat in a tulip glass, after dinner.
