Barrel Craft Spirits Decade 20 year 750 ml

This is a twenty year old release from Barrell Craft Spirits, the independent blender that sources mature American whiskey and builds its reputation on the blend rather than the still. Two decades is a long time in wood for American whiskey, and stock that survives it without turning into a lumberyard is genuinely scarce. Expect a nose of polished oak, dried fruit and old leather, a palate of dark caramel, tobacco, baked cherry and heavy oak spice, and a long, dry finish that keeps returning to the wood. This is an after-dinner pour and a slow one. Neat, in a tulip glass, with a little water on the side.
