Barrell Rum Private Release takes the blender's usual approach and points it at cane spirit: mature rum selected cask by cask and bottled without cutting it down to a house standard. Each Private Release is its own bottling, so no two carry quite the same profile. Aged rum treated this way keeps more grip than the sweetened supermarket version. Expect molasses, dried banana and toasted oak on the nose, a palate of caramel, baked pineapple, cocoa and warm spice, and a long dry finish with real barrel character behind it. Drink it neat like a whiskey, or over one large cube if the strength runs high.
