Bladnoch Old Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 11 year 700 ml

Bladnoch is Scotland's most southerly working distillery, sitting in Wigtownshire in the Lowlands, and this eleven year old single malt states that region's house style plainly. Lowland whisky has always been the gentle end of scotch, built on soft, unpeated malt where the spirit itself has nowhere to hide. The nose here is green apple, honeysuckle and lemon zest. The palate is vanilla and orchard fruit over light malt with a creamy texture that carries further than the delicacy suggests, and the finish is clean, gently sweet and softly drying. It is a fine daytime dram and a good first single malt. Serve it neat at room temperature, with a splash of water if you want it wider still.
