Botran 15 Year Reserva Especial 700ml

Botran 15 Year Reserva Especial sits at the top of the family's core range, a Guatemalan rum distilled from sugarcane honey and matured in the solera system high in the mountains near Quetzaltenango. The extra years in the solera push it darker and drier than the 12: dried fig and cocoa on the nose, then caramelised orange, toffee, tobacco leaf and a thread of cinnamon across the palate. The finish is long and lightly tannic, with the sweetness pulling back to let oak have the last word. This is a neat pour in a tulip glass, or a slow one over a single large cube after dinner.
