Bounty Coconut is a coconut-flavoured rum bottled in a full litre and built for mixing rather than sipping. Rums in this style start from a light, clear base and take on coconut through flavouring, which keeps the spirit pale and the texture soft. The nose is toasted coconut and vanilla; the palate is sweet and creamy, with coconut flesh, a little pineapple and a light sugarcane backbone underneath; the finish is short, clean and warm. It is the shortcut to a pina colada, and it does honest work in a rum punch, a coconut daiquiri, or simply lengthened with pineapple juice over plenty of ice.
